I have created several sites utilizing the artwork designed by another and have learned how to ask for the correct file types and resolutions so that I can pretty much replicate and enhance the pieces the graphics person has created.

Most times, I create my own artwork and logos. All the while keeping in mind the user and how they will be moving through the site. Redundant navigation, HTML rendered text, high quality-compressed graphics, and the most important thing —consistency. This approach assists in creating a site that is easy to move through, is friendly to search engines while providing extra opportunities for indexing, loads quickly and is not unfamiliar from page to page.
